Akron/Family - One Eyed Jacks - February 21, 2010

Akron/Family will bring their transcendent, engaging live show to the Southern United States this February. Set 'Em Wild, Set 'Em Free, the band's 2009 LP triumph, continues to be Akron/Family's bold new chapter in their always-evolving and ethralling sound.

Akron/Family's live spirit is best described by Time Out New York:

This "everyone’s invited" attitude is the crux of Akron/Family's performance philosophy, and it seems to work; word-of-mouth enthusiasm about its live show builds like a grassroots movement. Auxiliary brass, audience-participation percussion, the occasional impromptu parade into the street, all while managing to play the songs that fans want to hear – small wonder these shows are some of the only occasions when you can literally witness 200 New Yorkers smiling in unison.

All dates are with Warpaint:

2/17/2010 Greensboro, NC – Artiska Cafe
2/18/2010 Athens, GA – 40 Watt Club
2/19/2010 Orlando, FL – Back Booth
2/20/2010 Tallahassee, FL – Club Downunder
2/21/2010 New Orleans, LA – One Eyed Jacks (TicketWeb)
2/23/2010 Houston, TX – Walter's on Washington
2/24/2010 Austin, TX – The Parish
2/25/2010 Dallas, TX – Granada Theater
2/26/2010 Memphis, TN – Hi Tone
2/27/2010 Nashville, TN – Exit / In
2/28/2010 Knoxville, TN – Pilot Light

[Akron/Family] delivers a style-hopping live show rich with improvisation and an exhuberant, communal spirit. – LA Times

The songs have grooves and set pieces like inlaid jewels…the band's musicianship has caught up with its ideas. – The New York Times

Set 'Em Wild, Set 'Em Free truly lives up to its title by being both gloriously unhinged and joyously unrestrainted…music made with imagination really let off the leash. Long may they roam untamed. – BBC

Midlake - Spanish Moon - Baton Rouge, LA - January 5, 2010

Midlake, the acclaimed pastoral Indie-rockers whose song "Roscoe" was recently named "one of the top 100 songs of the decade" by Rolling Stone, will launch their eagerly awaited 2010 headlining tour January 5th. The band's first tour since 2007 is in support of its forthcoming album, 'The Courage of Others' (out Feb. 2 on Bella Union), which Spin and Stereogum have both picked as one of the most anticipated albums of 2010.

Since coming off the road in 2007, Midlake devoted over two years to writing and recording the new album, their first since their 2006 indie hit 'The Trials of Van Occupanther.' Asylum Street Spankers -- Salvation and Sin Tour

This all new show brings both sides of the Spankers to the stage: the badass picking and singing side of the band is central to the first half of the show featuring stomping gospel music from the new album; the second half explores the Spankers, um, shall we say, wilder side, with new songs about some of our favorite pastimes.
